A Kitale-based prosecutor James Naburuk Sichangi has been jailed for two years after he was convicted of soliciting for bribes. On top of it, Sichangi will also pay a fine of Ksh200,000 for contravening the Ethics and Economic Crime Act. The burial of 89-year-old man in Thidhna village in Suna East, Migori County, was on Saturday evening halted as residents demanded that his relatives be traced first. The man, James Otieno Onino, had been a herder for hire in the village for several years, and his relatives are said to be residents of Siaya County. Initially, the elders had said that they had obtained a burial permit from the chief, but the chief refuted the claims. Murang’a Woman Representative Sabina Chege has denied claims that she cried after a crowd booed her in her home county. Passengers of a Busia-bound TCB Sacco bus spent the night in the cold near University of Nairobi Kenya Science Campus on Ngong Road after the bus stalled, and the crew fled. The bus, registration number KBJ 732 R  is reported to have left the country bus station at around 10pm Saturday night, but developed issues almost immediately. According to a passenger who spoke to a local TV station, the bus would halt at bumps and force the crew to push it over. Two armed gangsters attacked and killed a police officer in his rental house in Kitengela, Kajiado on Friday night. The two stormed the officer’s house and fired four bullets on the officer, with three finding their mark on the officer’s neck, chest and the abdomen. The officer, Erick Mwirigi, 34, who is based in Athi River police station  died on the spot. Garissa County under the leadership of governor Ali Korane lost at least Ksh40.4 million in the last 10 months ending December 2018, reports reaching Kahawa Tungu have indicated. According to insiders in the county, on March 12, 2018, the county spent at least Ksh5.2 million in the homecoming ceremony of the county secretary and head of public service Abdi M Ali. New Makini School owners, Scholé, are reportedly kicking out some students in their school over operational space crisis which has hit the school one year after takeover. Urithi Housing Co-operative Society Ltd has refuted claims that two of their projects are been delayed over conflicts with the vendors. The county government of Garissa is on the spot for paying an artiste Ksh2 million for performing at the launch of Garissa County Revolving Fund. The artiste, Abdirahman Abubakar aka Dalmar Yare performed on June 12 at the event which was held at Almond Resort, Garissa town. Fafi MP Abdikarim Osman Mohamed is facing allegations of stealing Ksh12.5 million contributed for madrassa in his constituency. The money was contributed in a harambee organised by Garissa MP Aden Duale and attended by Deputy President William Ruto. The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has ordered Banks to submit weekly reports on the exchange of old bank notes for the new ones. In a circular, CBK instructed the lenders to capture and obtain identification documents of all persons who will be depositing old notes to acquire new ones. Adults convicted of a sex offense against a child under the age of 13 in Alabama will undergo chemical castration a month before being released from custody. This follows the signing into law of the a bill that allows such punishment to pedophiles as a measure to protect the little ones. Chemical castration involves administering medication, via tablets or injection, to take away sexual interest and make it impossible for a person to perform sexual acts. Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) is a body under siege, rocked with waves of corruption and graft allegedly steered by the general manager operations and habour master William Kipkemboi Ruto alias ‘Captain Ruto’.
