A Kitale-based prosecutor James Naburuk Sichangi has been jailed for two years after he was convicted of soliciting for bribes. On top of it, Sichangi will also pay a fine of Ksh200,000 for contravening the Ethics and Economic Crime Act. The burial of 89-year-old man in Thidhna village in Suna East, Migori County, was on Saturday evening halted as residents demanded that his relatives be traced first. Passengers of a Busia-bound TCB Sacco bus spent the night in the cold near University of Nairobi Kenya Science Campus on Ngong Road after the bus stalled, and the crew fled. The bus, registration number KBJ 732 R is reported to have left the country bus station at around 10pm Saturday night, but developed issues almost immediately. Two armed gangsters attacked and killed a police officer in his rental house in Kitengela, Kajiado on Friday night. The two stormed the officer’s house and fired four bullets on the officer, with three finding their mark on the officer’s neck, chest and the abdomen. Garissa County under the leadership of governor Ali Korane lost at least Ksh40.4 million in the last 10 months ending December 2018, reports reaching Kahawa Tungu have indicated. According to insiders in the county, on March 12, 2018, the county spent at least Ksh5.2 million in the homecoming ceremony of the county secretary and head of public service Abdi M Ali. The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) has ordered Banks to submit weekly reports on the exchange of old bank notes for the new ones. In a circular, CBK instructed the lenders to capture and obtain identification documents of all persons who will be depositing old notes to acquire new ones.
