National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) has revoked City Travellers Sacco’s PSV licence for non-compliance with public transport regulations. All vehicles belonging to the sacco, which operate between Railways Bus Stations, Kawagware, Riruta, Satellite and Dagoretti market, will not be allowed to ferry passengers within the city. In a statement to newsrooms on Monday, NTSA stated that the operator was found to be in violation of provisions of Section 5(1) of the National Transport and Safety Authority (Operation of PSV) Regulations, 2014. Two Safaricom employees, Simon Billy Kinuthia and Brian Njoroge Wamatu, were Monday charged with computer fraud and obtaining money by menaces. The two are accused of stealing privileged Safaricom subscriber’s data information and sharing it with an outsider identified Charles Njuguna Kimani. A suspected armed bandit in Elgeyo Marakwet shot his six children after a fight with his wife. Three of the children are reported to have died on the spot, while the remaining three were rushed to County Referral Hospital in Elgeyo Marakwet County where they are nursing gun-shot wounds. Kenya Railways lost over Ksh3.5 billion to the company operating the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) in the agreement contract. According to reports, Kenya Railways was compelled to lend the Chinese operator Ksh3.5 billion in a sweetheart deal without any interest on repayment and generous grace period. Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has intercepted two high-end motor vehicles at the Port of Mombasa suspected to have been stolen from the United Kingdom. According to import documents, the Range Rover Sport cars, which were subject of an international motor vehicle crime and smuggling investigation, were on transit to Uganda. Members of Parliament are planning to tame commissioners of the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) by making them part time workers with Ksh16,700 monthly salary. This comes days after SRC initiated a litigation against the MPs, demanding that they return Ksh700 million paid to them as house allowance. Tanzanian government has suspended exchange of its currency with that of Kenya, as well as inflow of Kenyan currency to the country. This follows the issuance of new bank notes by the Kenyan government meant to curb graft in the country and illicit cash flows. Murang’a County Executive Committee (CEC) member for Water Paul Macharia is nursing injuries at the Murang’a Level Five Hospital after getting involved in a grisly accident that left one dead this morning. According to police reports, the CEC was driving himself towards Murang’a town when he lost control of the car and hit a tree near  Kenol Murang’a road near Maragua. Gilbert Andika, a Kirinyaga police officer who assaulted three people demanding that they buy him beer has been arrested.
