Safaricom shops will not take the old Ksh1,000 notes from next week Thursday ahead of the September 30 deadline. In a memo sent across the country, the country affirmed that they wouldn’t receive the old generation notes. “Safaricom will not take old notes after September 26, to allow us bank in time,” stated the statement. The Labour Court on Friday ordered the Kamukunji police boss to provide embattled Wilson Sossion with adequate security to allow him access to the KNUT offices. Three people have been killed and 18 others severely injured after a road accident along the Machakos-Nairobi highway. According to reports, the accident occurred at Kanaani (Katheka Kai).
