Ugandan senior opposition leader Kizza Besigye has on Thursday been arrested while on a radio interview. Besigye was arrested while giving a radio interview on a local station called Mubembe FM. Benjamin Muema Kinyali’s body is reported to have been found at a forest near Kwa Vonza, 25 kilometers from Kitui town. The National Government through the Ministry of Environment has ordered the shutting down of three companies located along Mombasa road, Nairobi. Issuing the order, Environment CS Keriako Tobiko noted that the firms, Powerex, Edible Oil and Usafiplus have been shut down over toxic gas emissions. He further directed the National Environmental Management Authority (NEMA) to start investigations into the issue. At least two Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) workers have been injured following an accident at a construction site. The crash, is reported to have happened between Kimuka and Nachu tunnel on the SGR route to Naivasha. A female police officer in Migori County shot dead a form two student on Tuesday evening at Onger market in Nyatike Sub County. Reports indicate that the student, Devis Lango Okumu, was hit by a stray bullet while he was strolling in the market. A Mombasa Court has on Monday charged a UK citizen with sex trafficking 12 Nepalese girls and using them in his club. The UK citizen, Asif Amirali Alibhai, was charged with three counts related to human trafficking and promotion of human trafficking.
