Beryl Ouma, the lady who succumbed last Thursday following an alleged domestic abuse, was strangled to death in her sleep, autopsy report has revealed. The postmortem, which was carried out by three pathologists, revealed that the deceased also suffered severe injuries as a result of being hit by a metallic object at least six times. However, the pathologists noted that the injuries were not the cause of her death. The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji has divulged that investigations are ongoing on Diamond Trust Bank (DTB) over links to terrorism. Speaking to the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee in Parliament on Monday, the DPP noted that the bank was being used in facilitating terrorism. Kenya Railways Corporation has banned the scheduling of tickets for passengers travelling on the standard gauge railway (SGR) train between Nairobi and Mombasa. According to the Railways management, the rescheduling of time has been stopped with immediate effect. The corporation however noted that the agency will allow passengers to cancel tickets when they visit the terminus in person before the train departs. The nurse, Margaret Kilelu,who disappeared from her house in Nairobi has been found in Mombasa. The medic, who works with Amref-Kenya, was found in the Intensive Care Unit at Coast Provincial General Hospital (CPGH.) The Ministry of Education has officially suspended the issuance of laptops to class one pupils under the digital literacy programme. The Ministry noted that they have opted to build computer laboratories for ICT integration. Legendary athlete Nyantika Mayioro passed on on Sunday evening at Christiamariane hospital in Kisii County. The athlete, aged 88, succumbed after a long struggle with tuberculosis. Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata’s mother, Margaret Wangechi, has passed on. Confirming the saddening news to Daily Nation, the Senator stated that his mother succumbed to diabetes and hypertension. Police have confirmed that a form three student was found dead at a lodging in Narok. The girl said to have been a student from Kisiara Secondary School is claimed to have died while trying to procure an abortion.
