A man was arrested after he killed a one-and-six months old boy in a village in Githunguri, Kiambu County. The man later attempted to die by suicide. Veteran motorsports photojournalist Anwar Sidi made an urgent appeal to the public to help recover electronic valuables stolen last night at his South C Estate home in Nairobi. Sidi said burglars broke into his house and made away with a MacBook Pro laptop and several external hard drives containing decades of irreplaceable work. Among the stolen items is a MacBook Pro, Model A2338 EMC 3578, serial number FVFF32N7Q05H, which Sidi said had all his current work. A 75-year-old woman was found murdered and her body dumped in a thicket in Kyuso area, Kitui County. The woman had gone missing on December 28, 2025, before her body was discovered the following day. She was a member of the Kavonokya Faith and had gone for a church service before she failed to return home. Her body was discovered in a thicket while covered with a piece of cloth, police said. Four people including a circumciser were arrested for practicing Female Genital Mutilation in a village in Embobut, Elgeyo Marakwet County. This followed an incident where eight girls had undergone the FGM, which is banned by the law. A team staged an operation in Kapchebao and Embolot and confirmed the eight girls had been subjected to the practice a week ago and were recovering. Detectives are investigating the murder of a 34-year-old man whose body was found dumped in a maize plantation in a village in Kabati, Muranga County. The body of Kennedy Njoroge was found with stab wounds in the head, abdomen and neck. The suspected killer weapon was also found dumped in the plantation, police said.
