A police officer was found dead after a lightning strike on a house in Majani Mingi area, Rongai, Nakuru County. Police said the incident happened in Kapsaga area and the victim was identified as constable Francis Somokwony Chesire, based at Muhoroni Rapid Deployment Unit. Detectives are investigating the discovery of a female body in Ngong Forest in Nairobi. Police said a team was passing through the forest on October 3, 2025 when they stumbled on the body. The body of a woman was found on the roadside after her murder in Kenyenya village, Kisii County. Police found the body of the woman had injuries on her neck and appeared to have been burnt using a chemical. The body seemed to have also been delivered and dumped at the scene where it was found, police said of Saturday’s incident. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) recorded only 7,048 new voter registrations and 259 voter transfers in the past four days in the ongoing voter registration drive.
