A nine-year-old boy died from electrocution as he walked to school in Ebwikhobero village, Mumias, Kakamega County. The boy, who is a grade two pupil at Maraba Primary School, was electrocuted after stepping on a live wire that lay next to the road. A fire killed a three-year-old minor in a tragedy at a home in Ahero, Kisumu County. Police said the incident happened in Kogocho village and that victim was a twin brother to another female child who survived the fire on Tuesday. The two children had been left in the house by their parents as they went to work in the area. It was then the mattress they were lying on caught fire. Thousands of Afghans have moved to the UK under a secret scheme which was set up after a British official inadvertently leaked their data, it can be revealed. In February 2022, the personal details of nearly 19,000 people who had applied to move to the UK after the Taliban seized power in Afghanistan were leaked. The previous government learned of the breach in August 2023 when some of the details appeared on Facebook. Police are investigating the murder of a woman in a village in Teso, Busia County. The body of the woman was found in Amagoro area long after she had been killed. The body was found on the roadside with an injury the left side of the head which is suspected to have been caused by a blunt object. The decomposed body of Julius Oyugi, 55 was found in his house where he lived alone long after he had died.
