Microsoft and Strathmore Law School have signed a policy partnership deal that will see the university benefit from the construction of a Policy Innovation Centre. The move will provide a new digital platform for the Law School and students will be able to access more content online. As part of the agreement the school will conduct regular meetings at the Policy Innovation Centre for academia, industry, government and policy experts. Despite cash injection from retailer banks, Nakumatt Supermarket’s Junction branch in Nairobi has been closed down. Jade Collections has opened a sixth branch in Nairobi’s Westlands area the fashion retailer works on its expansion. The new store can be found at the Grenadier towers on Woodvale groove, off Waiyaki Way. Telkom Kenya is on the verge of a major break through following a gazette notice published by the National Land Commission (NLC) on behalf of the Ministry of Public Service, Youth and Gender Affairs. Kiambu Mall opening date has been postponed till December after several delays in construction. The county of Baringo is set to introduce a global geopark making it the second country in Africa and the first sub-Saharan Africa country after Morocco. The Energy Regulation Commission (ERC) has shut down six petrol stations after it was discovered that they were selling adulterated fuel. This came after the commission inspected 753 petroleum stations between July ans September. The ERC issued a statement on Friday saying that they managed to conduct 4,459 tests at the various petrol stations. “From the tests, 97.5 per cent were found to be compliant but 19 sites turned to be non-compliant,” the statement said. On Tuesday, prices at the Mombasa tea auction hit a seven-month high following panic purchases made by traders ahead of the October 26 presidential election. Airtel Money has announced the launch of a mobile money-based savings and loan service to the Kenyan market. The new service will now put Airtel Money and its financial services provider Maisha Microfinance Bank in the same league as Safaricom M-Shwari and KCB accounts.
