Comedian Eric Omondi has been arrested and teargassed in the Central Business District (CBD) as he protested against the high cost of living. The funny man was on Monday addressing a crowd along the busy Kenyatta Avenue outside Bank of India. The police were forced to lob teargas to disperse the crowd. The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji has dropped charges against six Azimio la Umoja politicians facing charges of participating in the unlawful demonstration and malicious property damage. Philip Mweteli appeared before senior Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu on Friday where he was also charged with dangerous driving, failing to stop after an accident, failing to report an accident and riding a motorcycle without a driving license.
