Kenyans will have to wait longer to travel to European Union (EU) member states. The EU is set to make available its Covid-19 passport for its citizens and residents, as well as for specific categories of travelers from third world countries, by July 1. Kenya did not, however, make the list as the Covishield vaccine being used locally is not among those approved in the EU. Covishield is manufactured in India. Gerald Karuga, the acting chief accountant at the Agricultural Development Corporation (ADC), is on the spot over fraud in land dealings. ADC was established in 1965 through an Act of Parliament Cap 346 to facilitate the land transfer programme from European settlers to locals after Kenya gained independence. Three slain security guards of Kivaywa High School were set to appear in court over theft of a television set at the school. The deceased persons; Edward Malala, Henry Khaoya and Evans Wanyonyi, were reported at Mate Police Station after the school management reported the theft of a television set from the institution’s dining hall. A policewoman based at Lang’ata Police Station has accused her superiors of frustrating her while pregnant. Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are hunting for one David Kahi Ambuko over fraud links. According to the DCI, Ambuko is wanted for obtaining over Sh26 million by false pretenses in a fake tender scheme while posing as a member of staff in the Department of Defence. Two men who had allegedly been arrested by a police officer in Thika, Kiambu County, have been found dead. The bodies of the two young men were retrieved from Thika River on Saturday evening. It’s suspected that the two were murdered before their bodies were dumped in the river. According to area residents, one of the deceased had handcuffs on his left hand. The Royal Media Services (RMS) has banned its staffers from undertaking private works (popularly known as side-hustles) such as MCing and featuring in adverts and other promotions. In a notice dated May 12, 2021, the management dealt a blow to staffers working in the company who make a killing from the works, mostly associated with celebrity news anchors and presenters.
