Two administrative police officers, Wilson Irungu and George Otieno Nyaoke have been arrested and will be charged with murder over the death of a man in a police cell, the Independent Policing Oversight Authority has said. According to a statement by IPOA, the two have a case to answer after David Wachira Kamauwas who was arrested in April 2019 by officers from Malewa AP Camp for allegedly stealing livestock was found dead in his cell. Kenya has announced 210 COVID-19 cases after 3,604 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Tally is now at 38,378. 7 patients have succumbed to the virus bringing the tally for fatalities to 707. Ideally, 59 patients have been discharged bringing the tally for recoveries to 24,740. 49 were from the home-based care programme while 10 from various hospitals across the country. In 2016,  a bizarre incident happened in Bungoma during the funeral of late businessman Jacob Juma who had been murdered. Sale Wanjala, a local in the area who was nicknamed as “Bungoma James Bond” hang on a chopper that was transporting the body of the late businessman. Comedian popularly known as Othuol Othuol was reportedly rushed to hospital yesterday while in critical condition. Apparently, his health had deteriorated and upon being rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH), he was not attended to due to the health worker’s strike. President Uhuru Kenyatta has directed that bars and restaurants will be reopened from tomorrow, Tuesday, September 29, 2020. Speaking National COVID-19 Conference held at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) the Head of State further directed that operation times for the bars will be until 10PM. Emurua Dikirr MP Johanna Ng’eno has launched a fresh attack on President Uhuru Kenyatta following Chief Justice David Maraga’s advisory to dissolve parliament. A 13-Year-old boy has allegedly been shot on the leg after chaos erupted over land in Moi Ndaba, Naivasha after two groups clashed. According to Star, the police had been called to calm the situation when the incident happened. The boy has since been taken to Naivasha Subcounty Hospital.
