Police are reportedly holding two bloggers following a story they published revealing the dirty tender details at the Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA). Reports reaching our desk indicate that the two bloggers, Jack Okinyi (Business Illustrated) and Milton Were (Kenya Today) were lured to a hotel in Upper Hill before being abducted, beaten up and wrapped in a trash paper. Health CAS Dr Rashid Aman has confirmed 271 new COVID-19 cases in the country after 4,019 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. The virus load now stands at 30,636. Speaking during the daily COVID-19 briefings, Aman indicated that five more people have succumbed to the virus bringing the tally for fatalities to 487. The High Court has allowed convict Grace Wakhungu to seek treatment from her personal doctor at the Lang’ata Women’s Prison pending the bail hearing detailing Sh297 million maize scandal. According to Nation, Wakhungu through her lawyer Paul Muite had requested to see her doctor due to her deteriorating health. The country has recorded 245 more Coronavirus cases on Monday, August 17, 2020, bringing the tally to 30,365. Speaking during the daily COVID-19 briefings, Health CAS DR Rashid Aman announced that  3,150 samples were tested in the last 24 hours. Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala is now able to access his bank accounts after being cleared by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) following tax evasion claims.
