The Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) has heightened its crackdown on fake sanitizers within Nairobi and Nakuru, seizing eight counterfeit brands. Standard Group has declared  170 employees redundant across all departments in a new restructuring move. Through a notice dated March 18, 2020, by the Company CEO Orlando Lyomu, a one month notice has been issued effective today, with the redundancy expected to take place in phases. “The Company, therefore, gives a one (1) months’ notice of its intention to declare redundancy with effect from the date hereof. New evidence from the US and Europe has indicated that younger people are not impervious to Coronavirus as initially stated, rather they are getting extremely sick from it. The evidence documented by an online publication refutes the initial notion that COVID-19 only puts older people at most risk while younger people are less vulnerable. Three more Coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the country by the Health CS Mutahi Kagwe, number totalling to seven cases. Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe has stated that any Kenyan who fails to quarantine after landing in the country will face jail time. Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko has suspended all arrests by County Askaris until Coronavirus pandemic is contained. This, according to Sonko will curb the spread of COVID-19 that has since engulfed the country. A Tanzanian woman, aged 46 years old has been confirmed as the first case to test positive for Coronavirus in Tanzania. According to the Ministry of Health in Tanzania, the patient arrived in the country on March 15, 2020 through Rwandan Air from Belgium and landed at the Kilimanjaro International Airport. Upon arrival at the airport, the patient was screened and found fit, hence not infected with COVID-19. The Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK)  has cracked its whip on Clean Shelf Supermarkets following an expose by Kahawa Tungu over hiking of sanitizers’ prices.
