The Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) Noordin Haji has ordered for the provision of body cameras to traffic police officers to aid in investigation of cases relating to traffic violations. Haji has urged the Inspector General of police, Hillary Mutyambai to adopt the use of body cameras following increase of traffic offenses. A three hour postmortem has revealed that Justice Otieno Odek died of blood clot in his leg. This follows a procedure conducted at the Aga Khan Hospital morgue in Kisumu by Government Pathologist, Johanssen Oduor. A vehicle, Toyota wish, has claimed the lives of 5 people at Mwiwondwe bridge along Ekero-Buyangu road, as it was headed to Busia County. The vehicle was reportedly carrying 10 passengers, with a couple reported to have perished in the crash. The Pharmacy and Poisons Board (PPB) has halted operations of about 120 chemists in Nyanza region in a span of one week. Dr Dominic Kariuki, the PPD’s head of Goods Distribution in a statement on Friday, December 20, stated that they were able to seize stocks with owners operating illegal chemists arrested. According to Kariuki, those affected have been noted to reside in the counties of Kisumu, Siaya, Homa Bay, Nyamira, Kisii and Migori. Former Habaswein Mixed Secondary School principal in Wajir country has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for sexually assaulting a KCSE candidate in 2018. The principal, Idle Abdi Haret, was accused of raping an 18 year old girl after offering her a lift in his car in November 3, 2018.
