Two people have been confirmed dead after a Public Service Vehicle (PSV) collided with a truck in Nyamira County. The accident took place along Sotik-Keroka Road in Nyaronde killing one on the spot and another victim with critical injuries that was pronounced dead on arrival at Clare’s Kaplong Mission Hospital in Bomet. It is reported that the truck rammed into the 14-seater matatu head on while trying to avoid the cess collection point. The body of a man who died in the wee hours of Sunday morning after jumping off MV Harambee ferry at the Likoni channel, in Mombasa has been found. The authorities that were working the two day rescue mission stated that the body was found washed ashore on the mainland side of Likoni Channel, near Base Titanium jetty. The University of Nairobi (UoN) has suspended the Centre for self sponsored programmes (CESSP), the body that manages self-sponsored programmes in the institution. All staff in the CESSP departments will be re-deployed to the mainstream services with duties aligned to their training. An assistant minister who worked during President Daniel Moi’s tenure has passed away at the Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) after a long term illness. Tola Kofa, a former member of parliament for Galole passed on at 75 years after having been admitted at the KNH for about a week. According to his son, Patrick Mgawa, the former legislator had been ailing for a period of time before it got worse and had to be admitted for one week.
