Police in Machakos shot down a murder suspect at his home in Katani, Syokimau on Wednesday morning. Two AK47 riffles were recovered in the morning hunt, with reports by Citizen tv indicating that the riffles were linked to a GSU officer. Spent cartridges matching the ones in the used in the murder of a business woman and her mother were also recovered. Members of Al-Shabaab militia raided Dadajabula  Police Station in Wajir County at the wee hours of Tuesday night and killed two of its militia members who were under police custody. According to media reports, the militia group members were heavily armed with Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG) and other destructive weapons causing a standoff for some time. National Assembly majority leader and Garissa Town Member of Parliament Aden Duale has endorsed the move to slash Judiciary budget by the treasury, terming it normal. A bus driver who was arrested while ferrying drunk secondary school students in Embu County has been jailed for six years. Stephen Mwendwa was found driving male and female students from Siakago Boys and Thingingi Girls in Embu County, who were in possession of alcohol, cannabis and muguka (khart) before being arrested by the police after a tip off from residents. Murang’a Senator Irungu Kang’ata has proposed a law aimed at punishing deadbeat fathers who deliberately fail to pay child support. According to the proposed law, failure to pay child support will have one blacklisted at Credit Reference Bureau as well as put one on notice for monitoring by other lenders. An M-Pesa cashier has won big after a Nyeri employment  court awarded her over half million shillings for damages in an oppression case against the employer. Caroline Wambui Kiguai is set to receive Sh485,690 from her former employer detailing accrued interests and cost of the case after Justice Nzioka Wa Makau’s directive. A 13-year-old boy in West Pokot County has been caned to death by his neighbours for allegedly stealing Sh430. The Police in the region have launched a manhunt for four suspects who fled immediately after storming the boy’s house and battering him when the mother was away.
