The office of the Director of Public Prosecution (ODPP) has come clean on its recruitment and selection process following claims of religious bias. In a post on Twitter, a user had pointed out that the majority of those recruited at the ODPP were Muslims thus alluding to religious bias. The high court has ordered Keroche Heiress Anerlisa Muigai to pay her ex-boyfriend Sh2 million for defamation. Businessman Ben Kangangi had sued Muigai for tarnishing his name following a post she made online that painted him as a shrewd businessman. In his suit, Kangangi said the post had caused him anguish leading to him losing business. Kangangi deals with the importation and sale of high-end automobiles, equipment, fashion apparel and interior design material through a company called Benka Automobiles. Last week, a family in Kitengela was calling for justice following the brutal murder of their 11-year-old kin whose body was discovered a few meters from home. Investigations into an alleged assassination attempt on Mombasa politician Ali Mwatsau who is also an aspirant in the coming elections have commenced, police have confirmed. In an incident yesterday, a vehicle that was carrying Mwatsau who is seeking a political seat in Mvita constituency was sprayed with over 15 bullets around Tudor area. The aspirant survived the attack but was seriously injured, sustaining gunshot wounds on his arms and legs. He was rescued by a TukTuk and rushed to Mombasa hospital where he is receiving treatment. A police Constable in Nyandarua County has been arrested for selling a phone he allegedly snatched from a civilian. Reports indicate that the officer attempted to make away with a phone belonging to Ms Ann Macharia whom he met outside Club Dee located in Olkalau, Nyandarua County. Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa might have been directly involved in the murder of Michael Ngumbao Jola during the Ganda mini-poll, a witness has told the court. Earlier, three people, two men and a woman had sought to stop Kibor’s burial until the issues raised were addressed. Three people have been arrested following a robbery incident along Mombasa Road. The three reportedly robbed passengers in a Matatu of their mobile phones and other valuables at 2 am. They have been identified as Vincent Obongo aged 38, Edward Kimani aged 22 and Mohamed Idi Ndote aged 27. Detectives have arrested a suspect who has been behind the vandalism of Nairobi Expressway construction materials. The suspect, Richard Misoka was nabbed last evening by detectives based at Embakasi police station. A warrant of arrest has been issued for the Ndichu Twins, Paul and Eddie over failure to appear in court to answer to the assault charges.
