The IEBC has revoked former Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko’s clearance to vie for the Mombasa Gubernatorial seat. In the final blow, the former County boss will also not hold any public office now and in the future. Detectives are probing the mysterious death of a 20-year-old man whose body was found dumped in River Sare, Awendo, Migori County. Speculations are rife that the young man was killed somewhere else and his body later dumped in the river. Four police officers foiled a bandit attack in Samburu on Wednesday leading to the recovery of several firearms. In details revealed by the DCI, armed raiders had staged an attack along the Ndonyo Wasin – Sereolipi Road in Samburu county. Two police officers, sergeant John Lekidayo and constable Kelvin Kinyua are behind bars for suspected robbery in Tharaka Nithi County. The two are based at Nkubu Police Station, Tharaka South. Police have gunned down four members of the notorious ‘Nyuki squad’ gang that has been terrorizing residents in Nakuru. According to Nakuru County Police Commander Peter Mwanzo, the four were ambushed by plain-clothed officers who were conducting an inspection on Friday morning. Five others reportedly fled the scene with gunshot wounds. Police are high on their pursuit. Six passengers have been reported dead in the ghastly Kwa Majini Bridge accident along the Thika-Garissa Highway. 8 others have been seriously injured and were rushed to Matuu Level 4 hospital. This was confirmed by Machakos Police boss Issa Mohamed. The accident involved a 14-seater matatu that collided with another vehicle and burst into flames. A military man who opened fire at a boda boda rider who dropped his daughter home has been arrested and will face further disciplinary actions. According to the DCI, a boda boda rider, Wycliffe Atendo received a request from a client where he was to drop her at White House Estate in Syokimau, Machakos County. The murder case against Migori Governor Okoth Obado and his personal assistant Michael Oyamo commenced yesterday with a clinical officer recounting how he was paid to fake a medical report.
