Three police officers, Corporal Carmax Okelo, Jalus Okoa and Andrew Bett are in custody awaiting arraignment on Monday after three suspects escaped from Kilgoris Police station in Narok county. The incident happened in the wee hours of Saturday morning in Transmara West sub-county. Aron Asiba Matendechere, the man behind the viral “Nitakufinya” phrase is among those who will be compensated by the government after their houses were demolished in Mukuru kwa Njenga slums. A fortnight ago, demolitions along Mukuru Kwa Njenga slums to pave way for the construction of the Nairobi Expressway left hundreds of people homeless. New details have emerged on how the three terror suspects who escaped from Kamiti Maximum prison ended up in Kitui. A fuel explosion at Caldori Petrol station in Bondo on Thursday night has left one person nursing serious injuries. The tanker is said exploded at around 10 PM, according to Bondo sub-county police commander Roseline Chebosho. It was reported that there was a loud bang before the tanker went up in flames. A 24-year-old Makueni man is in custody for attempting to sexually assault his 86-year-old grandmother. According to the DCI, the man, Stephen Mutua Mutala from Kalongo sub-location in Makueni County crept into his grandmother’s bed, grabbed her neck and covered her mouth before trying to commit the act. Today, Kenya has recorded 88 new Covid-19 infections in the last 24 hours after a sample size of 4,681 was tested in the last 24 hours. The country’s caseload is now at 254,541. Today, 75 patients have tested positive for Covid-19 in Kenya the last 24 hours after 3,854 samples were tested. This brings the positivity rate to 2.0% with the cumulative caseload now at 254,384. The cumulative tests so far conducted are 2,775,646. Sadly three deaths have been reported bringing the cumulative death toll to 5,322. Miguna Miguna has threatened to take legal action against lawyer Makau Mutua over sexual assault allegations he made on Twitter.
