Three suspected gangsters were gunned down by police in Ruiru, Kiambu County in the wee hours of Friday morning. A saloon car that had been stolen from Kayole area was also recovered following the incident. Apparently, the trio had stolen the car from the parking lot of a businessman promoting the police to start a manhunt for them. Detectives are probing an incident where former Westland’s MP Fred Gumo’s kin was abducted by armed men in Muthaiga. Reports indicate that Fred Gumo’s sister-in-law together with her driver were ambushed by armed men yesterday just outside the house of the former legislator. A police report further reveals that the men were waiting for the gate to be opened before pouncing on the victims immediately. 80 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours after 4,188 samples were tested. Kenya’s cumulative caseload is now at 253,018. The cumulative tests so far conducted in the country are at 2,691,330 with the positivity rate now at 1.9%. A Nairobi court has declined to issue Sirisia MP John Waluke with his passport to facilitate travel to the United States (US) for a parliamentary event. Justice Esther Maina rejected Waluke’s request terming him a convict who is not allowed to travel outside the country. Benson Melonyie Ole Mungai, the prime suspect in the murder of four men in Kitengela has been denied bond. In a ruling by Kajiado High Court Judge Stellah Mutuku, Mungai will remain in custody until December 15, 2021. Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip has been released on Sh500,000 cash bail or Sh1 million bond in the shooting incident case.
