Three suspected gangsters were gunned down by police in Ruiru, Kiambu County in the wee hours of Friday morning. A saloon car that had been stolen from Kayole area was also recovered following the incident. Apparently, the trio had stolen the car from the parking lot of a businessman promoting the police to start a manhunt for them. According to authorities, the three suspected gangsters who were in their early 20s were on their way to Mwiki from Githurai 45 when they were ambushed by police officers. Detectives are probing an incident where former Westland’s MP Fred Gumo’s kin was abducted by armed men in Muthaiga. Reports indicate that Fred Gumo’s sister-in-law together with her driver were ambushed by armed men yesterday just outside the house of the former legislator. A police report further reveals that the men were waiting for the gate to be opened before pouncing on the victims immediately. Consequently, the three suspects involved in the abduction are said to have blocked the victim’s car immediately after the gate was opened and ordered them out before bundling them into their vehicle and speeding off.…

Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has been put on the spot over funds donated by Deputy President William Ruto to Kakamega residents. Reports indicate that during the DP’s tour of the region, Sh1 million was donated to support the women and youth in the area by boosting their small businesses. 80 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours after 4,188 samples were tested. Kenya’s cumulative caseload is now at 253,018. The cumulative tests so far conducted in the country are at 2,691,330 with the positivity rate now at 1.9%. A Nairobi court has declined to issue Sirisia MP John Waluke with his passport to facilitate travel to the United States (US) for a parliamentary event. Justice Esther Maina rejected Waluke’s request terming him a convict who is not allowed to travel outside the country. Nairobi County is leading with 16.8% of its population fully vaccinated from Covid-19. It is closely followed by Nyeri County with 14.7%. On the other hand, West Pokot, Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, and Marsabit are the least counties with less than 1pc of the population fully vaccinated. Benson Melonyie Ole Mungai, the prime suspect in the murder of four men in Kitengela has been denied bond. In a ruling by Kajiado High Court Judge Stellah Mutuku, Mungai will remain in custody until December 15, 2021. He will thus be detained at Kitengela Police Station until the hearing of the case commences. Two Makueni based teachers escaped a mob lynching at Mtito Andei after fleeing with Sh1 million belonging to a politician. Former Eldama Ravine MP Musa Sirma’s properties are set to be auctioned over Sh880,000 debt that dates back to 2018. Saddabri Auctioneers acting on behalf of Gordon Ogola and Kipkoech Company Advocates moved in and seized Sirma’s 20 cows each valued at Sh35,000. Lamu Senator Anwar Loitiptip has been released on Sh500,000 cash bail or Sh1 million bond in the shooting incident case. The Senator has also been directed to report to the offices of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) every two days. Vaccination Update: Kenya has administered 4,733,770 vaccines as of October 20, 2021. Of these, 3,416,746 were partially vaccinated while those fully vaccinated were 1,317,024.
