Kenya has announced 1,279 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours after 7,450 samples were tested. The country’s caseload is now at 116,310. The cumulated tests so far conducted in the country are at 1,387,440. The family of Migori based blogger Joseph Okoth Ouma has raised concerns after their kin was abducted and efforts to trace him reached a dead end. Kenya has recorded the highest COVID-19 cases in 2021 as 1,064 tested positive from 6,151 samples that were tested. The country’s caseload is now at 115,031. Yesterday, former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu’s son, Brian Ndung’u was arrested for drunk-driving and fined Sh30,000 or face three months in jail. Ndung’u was arrested in the wee hours of Monday morning and charged at the Milimani Law Courts for driving under the influence. Kiambu County Assembly is mourning the death of Eliud Ngugi Ngigi, Muguga ward representative who succumbed to COVID-19. The body of missing National Lands Commission (NLC) official Jennifer Itumbi Wambua was found yesterday at City Mortuary, having been strangled to death.
