Kenya has recorded 750 COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours after 6,264 samples tested. The country’s caseload is now at 111,935. The cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,358,390. Of the cases, 702 are Kenyans while 48 are foreigners. 411 are males and 339 are females. The youngest is a one-year-old baby while the oldest is 100. President Uhuru Kenyatta has directed that all bars and restaurants in the country will be closed by 9PM effective midnight, March 13, 2021. A mob of angry boda boda riders stormed Karatina Hospital in Nyeri and lynched two patients who were suspected motorcycle thieves. The mob alluded that the two, who were patients at Karatina Hospital were behind the killings of six of their colleagues in the region. The suspects who had earlier been rescued and taken to the hospital were lynched and their bodies set on fire as police authorities looked helplessly. Detectives are probing the case of 82-year-old Wolfgang Theodor Fischer who shot himself after claiming his wife and in-laws swindled off his properties worth millions. According to police reports, Theodor was a Kenyan by naturalization having lived in the county for close to 30 years. He was also married to a 62-year-old Kenyan woman. At least 4,000 Kenyans have so far received the Covid-19 vaccine, Health Chief Administrative Secretary Mercy Mwangangi said on Wednesday. Appearing before the National Assembly Health Committee, Mwangangi told MPs that so far, no major side effects had been reported from those who voluntarily took the jab.
