The Political Parties and Disputes Tribunal (PPDT) has declared as null and void a decision by Third Way Alliance Kenya party to expel its Secretary-General Fredrick Okango. In its ruling, the tribunal further ruled that Agnes Nduta Gachahi remains to be the chairperson of the women league as the decision to suspend her was illegal. Okango and Ms Gachahi were suspended in January and February respectively on grounds of gross misconduct. Gertrude’s Children’s Hospital has finally released the body of Brian Kimani that had been detained over a huge medical bill. The hospital announced on Tuesday that the body that had been detained at the hospital for about four months had been released to the family unconditionally. The family of the former Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) employee James Oyugi has been dealt a blow after the High Court in Siaya declined to issue orders to exhume his body for a decent burial. The number of the coronavirus cases in the country rose to 3,594 on Sunday after 137 more people tested positive in the last 24 hours. Speaking during a press conference in Othaya, Nyeri County, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said the cases were recorded following the testing of 3,167 samples. Police in Mombasa have seized a consignment of 1,265 expired twenty Litre Jerry Cans of Miltra Cooking oil that was allegedly set to be repackaged and sold to unsuspecting members of the public. An inmate at the Taita Taveta County-based Manyani Maximum Prison has been isolated after testing positive for the novel Coronavirus disease (Covid-19). Taita Taveta Health CEC John Mwakima intimated to a local media that the inmate had recently been transferred from Shimo La Tewa correctional facility.
