Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) have made a breakthrough in the investigations into the murder of a Kenya Institute of Mass Communication  (KIMC) female student whose lifeless body was discovered near Mburiria estate in Kiambu County Saturday morning. Community elders in Bubisa, Marsabit, on Friday morning surrendered three firearms to security officers based in Turbi area amid the ongoing security operation in the county. Through the area chief Joseph Jirm, the elders surrendered two Ak-47 assault rifles and a G3 rifle. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has cautioned members of the public against engaging unauthorised individuals when seeking police clearance documents better known as Certificates of Good Conduct. In a notice on Friday, the George Kinoti-led directorate said the government has made the process easier and applicants are not required to visit the DCI headquarters on Kiambu Road upon successful application to collect the crucial document. A Nairobi court has summoned nominated Member of Parliament David Sankok in an ongoing case involving his former official driver. In summons issued on Thursday, Milimani Principal Magistrate Robinson Ondiek ordered Sankok to appear in court on August 8 without fail. Eight suspected militias have been arrested and an assortment of weapons recovered as multi-agency teams intensify security operations in troubled Marsabit County. The National Police Service reported on Wednesday that the gunmen were arrested in Marsabit Central on Tuesday evening. During the operation, security forces recovered 3 AK 47 rifles, a G3 rifle and a General Purpose Machine Gun.
