Five people were on Sunday morning shot and killed in Forore, Marsabit County, by suspected Ethiopian militia. Steve Oloo, County Police Commander, said four other people were injured in the 4.am attack along the Kenya-Ethiopia border. A National Population and Housing Census official has been arrested in Nyamira County for allegedly offering census palmtop computer and a  power bank as collateral after failing to clear bills at a local bar. In an executive order dated August 22, the President merged the Interior and immigration departments. Protesters stormed Annual Judges’ Colloquium at Saraova Whitesands in Mombasa on Thursday where they called out the Judicial Service Commission for undermining judicial reforms and integrating corruption into the practice. The placard-carrying women, chanting ‘Haki Yetu’, accused some of the judges of serving the interests of local drug lords. Former Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo on Thursday appeared before Milimani Law Courts where he was charged with obtaining Ksh50 million from Post Bank by false pretence. Thailand authorities are holding a Kenyan national who was arrested at the Suvarnabhumi airport in Bangkok on Wednesday for allegedly trying to smuggle into the country 68 capsules of cocaine. According to international media reports, the man identified as Glenn Chibasellow Ookow had swallowed all the capsules. The 43-year-old is reported to have flown from Ethiopia on Monday and was arrested shortly after arrival. Leadership wrangles continue to rock the Nairobi Central Seventh-Day Adventist Church with one of the warring groups now faulting the government for reopening the church that had been closed indefinitely.
