According to the legislator the Kiambu County government has been discharging raw sewerage into rivers Komo and Ndarugu posing a health risk to thousands of residents who depend on the water for domestic and irrigation purposes. The late former Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr Hezron Manduku wore a mtumba shirt for more than 15 years, Kahawa Tungu has learnt. Manduku, who also served as Member of Parliament for Nyaribari Masaba, died on Saturday night at the age of 79. The Ministry of Education has rescheduled opening date for all schools for term three. In a circular directed to all Regional and County Directors of Education, Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang stated that the opening dates have been pushed forward by a week. Law Society of Kenya President Allen Gichuhi has rubbished claims by one of the society representatives in the Willie Kimani murder case that city lawyer Cliff Ombeta is not licensed to practice in the country. On Thursday, the representative, Stephen Ongoro, told Justice Jessie Lesiit that LSK had withdrawn Ombeta’s license. Ongoro further said that Ombeta doesn’t have enough LSK points to practise law. Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has issued a warning to Wakali Kwanza criminal gang members in the coastal region following the recent attack of Nyali and Kisauni residents.
