Governors have taken issue with the recent arrest of Kiambu colleague Ferdinand Waititu over alleged misappropriation of county funds, terming  it inhuman. President Uhuru Kenyatta on Monday morning made an impromptu visit to the Embakasi Inland Container Depot (ICD) where seized containers are being detained. According to a statement from State House, the president’s visit was prompted by distress calls from traders whose goods have been confiscated. Kenya Airways Chief Executive Officer Sebastian Mikosz is set to step down before the end of his three-year contract. In a staff memo, the CEO states that he will be stepping down on December 31, five months before the end of his contract. “I have made the decision to shorten my contract term and I have decided to resign on personal grounds effective Dec.31, ” Mikosz said in the letter sent to employees. The Kenyan government has ruled out ransom talks with Al-Shabaab militia to secure release of abducted Cuban doctors.
