A Kenya Navy officer has taken his own life after shooting dead his colleague in Mtongwe, Mombasa County. The officer identified as Kibet reportedly snatched a G3 riffle from his victim, Kimtai, and shot him three times fatally wounding him, before turning the rifle on himself. Police on Saturday seized bhang worth an estimated street value of Ksh6 million at Kirimon area in Samburu-Central, Sambury County. Reports indicate the bhang packaged in 116 bales, on transit to unknown destination, was being transported in two vehicles from  a neighbouring country through Marsabit and Samburu counties. The family of deceased businessman Reginald Mengi has reported theft of property at the billionaire’s palatial home days after his burial. According to Tanzania media reports, unknown people got away with jewelry made of  gold, Laptops and unknown sums of money from two rooms in the deceased’s lavish home. A man hacked to death his 19-year-old neighbour over suspected love affair with his wife in Mogotio, Baringo County. After committing the crime the man reportedly turned to  his expectant wife on Thursday evening leaving her with severe injuries. The woman was rushed to Nakuru Level Five Hospital where she is nursing her injuries. Following the horror attack, medics at the hospital terminated the woman’s five-month pregnancy. “The woman was received in a very critical condition. Three officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are nursing injuries at Sigor Sub-County hospital after they were attacked by a rowdy mob at Lomut trading centre in West Pokot County on Sunday. Three suspected gangsters were on Sunday morning gunned down by police in a botched robbery at Karatina market, Nyeri County. Reports indicate the three were part of a 10-man gang that attempted to break into a local entertainment joint. It took the police over five hours to neutralize the suspects, as they kept hiding in nearby buildings. Kerugoya County Referral Hospital in Kirinyaga County is the talk of town hours after an exposé by a local media. In the exposé aired on Citizen TV on Saturday night, the county leadership led by Governor Ann Waiguru has largely been blamed over the sickening state of the facility. 75 employees of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) have been interdicted and over 200 arrested for allegedly abetting tax evasion and engaging in related fraudulent deals. The employees, are accused of facilitating irregular cargo clearance, fraudulent amendment of tax returns so as to help taxpayers evade taxes and irregular issuance of tax compliance certificates. In a statement on Friday, the taxman noted 61 of those interdicted are from domestic tax department, while 14 are from customs and boarder control. A Mombasa-bound Kenya Airways plane was forced to make an emergency landing on Friday morning shortly after take-off. Reports indicate the KQ604 plane had just taken off from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) when it encountered a bird strike. British most wanted terrorist Jermaine Grant was on Thursday sentenced to four years at Shimo La Tewa Maximu Prison. Mombasa Chief Magistrate Evans Makori found Grant guilty of possessing bomb-making material.
