President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping on Friday signed project delivery agreements worth Sh67.5 billion for the Konza Data Centre and Smart Cities Project by telecommunications giant Huawei and the JKIA-James Gichuru expressway. Eldoret and Nakuru towns recorded the highest number of reported murder cases in the country in 2018, a 2019 economic survey has revealed. The report released by the Kenya National Bureau of Statistics (KNBS), revealed that the number of murder cases recorded nationally increased from 956 in 2017 to 1065 in 2018. The last time the number of reported murder cases hit the 1000 mark was in 2014. Kenyan avocados are now allowed in the Chinese market, the state has announced. This follows a trade deal reached between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping. Investigations into the theft of Sh11 million from four Barclays Bank ATMs in Nairobi have revealed that the heist was an inside job. According to the latest update from the Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti, the investigations are almost complete. The report, which has been tabled before the Senate, ranks the counties on the basis of kickbacks residents have to part with to enjoy government services. Two people have been confirmed dead and nine others admitted in hospital following suspected anthrax outbreak in Meru County.
