Bomet East MP Beatrice Kones’ son has died from an alleged suicide at his home in Kiamunyi estate, outskirts of Nakuru Town.

The legislator’s son, Collins Kipyegon, died at the War Memorial Hospital in Nakuru.

According to the hospital’s doctors, Kipyegon passed on while at the Intensive Care Unit where he had been rushed to.

A doctor who sought anonymity stated: “He was rushed here early morning for having taken poison and doctors did all they could do to save his live but unfortunately he died.”

He further noted that Kipyegon was received at the hospital with breathing difficulties.

A close friend divulged that Kipyegon, who was living with his wife in Nakuru, was having family issues.

“He has been having marital issues which we suspect drove him to commit suicide,” he stated.

However, speaking to The Standard, Nakuru deputy OCPD Daniel Kitavi refused to comment about the incident claiming that he is not aware.

“I do not have information about the MP’s son having died. Look for family members,” Kitavi affirmed.
