Pulse Magazine editor Steve Muendo is a man under siege after it emerged that he fabricated an interview for bubbly K24 news anchor Betty Kyalo, to suit current events.

In the interview posted today on the Pulse Magazine, Muendo is said to have twisted the interview to suit a story where Ms Kyalo’s ex-husband Denis Okari had a ‘secret’ wedding. Kyalo accuses Muendo of adding comments to the interview about the Okari’s wedding, which she never uttered.

“You used an interview I did 7 months ago just to make a story relevant now. How unprofessional and uncouth. Steve Muendo we did an interview August last year, but in this article you deliberately decided to make it sound like we did the interview recently which is misleading and a lie.

“(You) even fabricated lies about what I said in the last one week just to make a connection to unrelated event. What a shame for a publication like yours. Desperate to sell copies by using my name. Some of the pictures You used Were from a recent event I attended, you referred to a trip and supposed relationship that I’ve never discussed with you.

“I just want to tell the public that I didn’t comment recently on any of the things in this article and that the writer Steve whom I actually considered a friend fabricated a lot of this article. The last time I spoke to the writer on a professional level was in August 2018 during a previous recorded interview but he’s used that to fabricate a story relevant,” said furious Ms Kyalo.

In the article published by the Standard Group-owned magazine where Ms Kyalo used to work, the writer ‘revealed’ that she never expected ex-husband Dennis Okari back into her life after their break up.

“I moved on and it’s not like I was sitting here waiting for Dennis to come back. That door was closed,” wrote the magazine.

Last week, Okari exchanged vows with Naomi Joy at the Ridgeways Church.

Invited to the ceremony were close friends and family.

On if she called to wish the young couple a happy marriage, the magazine wrote that her wishes couldn’t make any difference, and so she opted not to say a word to the NTV prime time anchor.

“It was their wedding and their private day, not mine. They are happy and I don’t know if it would make a lot of difference if I tried to involve myself.”

Betty Kyallo and Okari separated 6 months after their wedding, with Ms Kyallo citing infidelity on Mr Okari’s end as the reason for their split.

They sired a daughter together, Ivanna, now 6 years old.
