Police in Kisumu launched investigations after the body of an unidentified middle-aged man was discovered at a dumping site near Royal Swiss Hotel in Mamboleo.
The body was discovered on Monday, August 31, 2026, by a resident of Bukna area in Konya Sub-location, Kajulu West Location.
The man was tethering his sheep near the hotel when he came across the body and alerted the authorities.
They found the body of an unidentified middle-aged man lying on its back at the dumping site, with multiple injuries all over the body.
CSI officers processed and documented the scene before the body was removed and taken to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital (JOOTRH) mortuary.

Elsewhere, police in Meru County have launched investigations into the murder of a man whose body was discovered in Mwikanda Kaongo area, Tigania West.
The body of Kinyua Kambura, an adult male whose age was not immediately established, was found early Monday morning, August 31, 2026.
The incident was reported to Tigania Police Station at about 5am by Miathene Location Chief Joseph Miritu, who informed police that Kambura had allegedly been killed by unknown assailants.
Police officers from Tigania Police Station, accompanied by detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) in Tigania West, visited the scene and commenced preliminary investigations.
Police established that Kambura had been living alone.
His body had visible cuts on the face and right hand, raising suspicion that he may have been attacked before his death.
The body was removed from the scene and taken to Meru Referral Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the killing and are pursuing leads that could help identify and arrest those responsible.
And police in Siaya County have arrested a 51-year-old woman following the death of a 68-year-old woman in an alleged stabbing incident in Ugunja Sub-County.
The incident occurred in Oolre Village, East Asango Sub-location, North Uholо Location, and was reported to Sigomere Police Station on Monday, August 31, 2026.
Police visited the scene and found the lifeless body of Margret Aoko Ojwang, 68, lying in a pool of blood at the entrance to her bedroom.
She had sustained a deep cut on her right hand, allegedly inflicted by a sharp object.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the deceased had been involved in a quarrel with the suspect, before the incident.
Police said the suspect allegedly picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed Aoko on the right hand, causing severe bleeding.
She was arrested and placed in custody pending arraignment in court.
The scene was processed by investigators, while a blood-stained kitchen knife with a blue handle, believed to be the weapon used in the attack, was recovered and kept as an exhibit.
The deceased’s body was taken to Home Ground Mortuary in Ugunja, where it is awaiting a postmortem examination.
