    Bounty Killer was born Rodney Basil Price in June 1972 in Kingston, Jamaica. Raised in the inner-city communities of Kingston, he was exposed early to the realities that would later define his music.     Career Breakthrough

    Bounty Killer made his official recording debut in 1994 with the album Roots, Reality & Culture. That same year, he released several additional projects, including Jamaica’s Most Wanted, Guns Out, Face to Face, and Down in the Ghetto. These releases quickly established him as one of the most aggressive and authentic voices in dancehall, earning him the nickname “The Warlord.”

He worked with major artists such as Fugees, Mobb Deep, Jay-Z, Swizz Beatz, Rihanna, Beenie Man, and others. One of his most commercially successful appearances came on No Doubt’s hit single “Hey Baby,” which reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100, introducing his voice to a mainstream global audience.

    The Alliance

    Beyond his own career, Bounty Killer played a pivotal role in developing new talent.
