    Bruna Linzmeyer is a Brazilian actress born on November 11, 1992, in the small town of Corupá, Santa Catarina.

    She grew up in a modest family with diverse ancestry, including German roots from her paternal grandparents, as well as Indigenous, African, Portuguese, and Spanish heritage.

    From a young age, she showed interest in the arts, winning a local beauty contest at 15 before moving to São Paulo and later Rio de Janeiro to pursue modeling and acting.

    Linzmeyer is widely recognized not only for her versatile performances in television, film, and theater but also for her outspoken activism in support of feminist causes and LGBTQIA+ rights.

    Bruna has one sibling, an older brother named Helder Linzmeyer, who is approximately ten years her senior.

    Helder works in the banking sector and maintains a private life away from the spotlight.

    Helder played a supportive role in Bruna’s personal journey, helping facilitate conversations with the family about her sexuality.

    Career

    Linzmeyer’s professional acting career began in 2010 with her debut in the TV Globo miniseries Afinal, o Que Querem as Mulheres?.

    She quickly rose to prominence through prominent roles in popular telenovelas, including Leila in Insensato Coração (2011), the autistic character Linda in Amor à Vida (2013–2014), Professor Juliana in Meu Pedacinho de Chão (2014), Belisa in A Regra do Jogo (2015), Cibele in A Força do Querer (2017), and the young Madeleine in the 2022 remake of Pantanal, where she also created an innovative accompanying web series on Instagram.

    In cinema, she made her debut in Rio, Eu Te Amo (2013) and went on to star in notable films such as A Frente Fria que a Chuva Traz (2016), O Grande Circo Místico (2018, premiered at Cannes), and the award-winning A Wild Patience Has Taken Me Here (2021).

    Linzmeyer has also worked in theater productions and released a music single titled Aqui é a Belisa in 2015, showcasing her multifaceted talents across various media.

    Accolades

    Early in her trajectory, Linzmeyer won the 2011 Prêmio Qualidade Brasil for Best Newcomer Actress and received nominations from Prêmio Contigo! and Prêmio Quem.

    She garnered further acclaim with nominations for supporting and leading roles in telenovelas, including multiple nods from Melhores do Ano and Prêmio Contigo!.

    In 2016, she received the Troféu Viver SC as a homage to her artistry.

    For her activism, she was honored with the 2019 Felix Suzy Capó Award as Personality of the Year for LGBTQIA+ representation.

    Her film work brought international praise, including a Special Jury Award at the Sundance Film Festival and Best Interpretation at Festival Mix Brasil for A Wild Patience Has Taken Me Here in 2022.
