    Siblings

Chris’ most notable family connection in the music world is his younger brother, Willie Adler, who serves as the rhythm guitarist in Lamb of God.

The brothers collaborated closely for over two decades within the band, contributing to its signature sound and rise to prominence.

Willie joined Lamb of God in 1999, and their sibling dynamic was often highlighted in interviews and documentaries as a source of tight musical chemistry.

However, following Chris’s exit from the band in 2019, reports indicate a significant rift, with Chris describing their relationship as estranged in a 2025 interview.

    Career

Adler’s career began with early influences from drummers like John Bonham, Dave Lombardo, and Stewart Copeland, leading him to play in local bands before co-founding Lamb of God.

The band evolved from underground roots into one of the most respected acts in modern metal, with Adler’s drumming featured on landmark albums such as Ashes of the Wake (2004) and Sacrament (2006).

His tenure included relentless touring and contributions to the group’s aggressive, rhythmically intricate style.

After leaving Lamb of God amid reported tensions, Adler briefly joined Megadeth in 2015-2016 as a session and touring drummer, performing on their album Dystopia.

He has also pursued solo projects, educational clinics, and other musical endeavors, maintaining a reputation as an innovative force in metal drumming.

    Accolades

Adler won multiple Modern Drummer magazine Reader’s Poll awards for Best Metal Drummer in years including 2007, 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2019, along with honors for Educator of the Year and Clinician of the Year tied to his instructional work.

As a member of Lamb of God, he received several Grammy nominations in the metal categories.

Adler achieved a Grammy win for Best Metal Performance with Megadeth for the track “Dystopia” at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards in 2017.

Additional accolades include a 2016 Revolver Golden Gods Award for Drummer of the Year for his contributions to that album.
