The Council of Governors (CoG), through the office of its chairman, Wycliffe Oparanya, has condoled with Tharaka Nithi Governor Muthomi Njuki following the death of his mother.
Mrs Jeniffer Cianjagi Njuki succumbed on February 11, 2019 following a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
In a statement, Mrs Njuki was described as a very warm and cheerful person who was always welcoming to those in need and always ready to give counsel.
“She brought so much joy and laughter to those around her. She will be remembered for being a great business woman and farmer,” the statement added.
In her early days, the governor’s mother was a teacher.
“I offer my deepest condolences to my brother and his family. We assure you the people of Tharaka Nithi County of our sincerest prayers during this time of grief,” said Oparanya.
Mrs Njuki joins the list of high profile individuals who have succumbed to cancer.
