The Kenyan Court of Appeal rejected an application by Paul Ndung’u to reopen a concluded legal dispute over the SportPesa brand.

The decision, delivered by a three-judge bench, rejected the application made by Ndung’u and ultimately dismissed his motion in its entirety, finding it had “no merit”, and awarding costs to Milestone Games.

This is the second legal case that Mr. Ndung’u has lost against SportPesa in recent months, with the English High Court finding in November 2025 no substance to a legal claim filed by Ndung’u against the company and its leadership.

“The court’s decision to reject this baseless bid to reopen a settled case brings this matter to a welcomed conclusion. For years, we have faced a pattern of vexatious litigation and media manipulation. Now, we are vindicated in both Kenya and England, with a Sh374 million costs order in our favor.”

“This victory provides the legal certainty required to accelerate our position in the market. SportPesa is no longer looking back, our focus remains on the ‘SportPesa Effect’ – investing in our communities, building infrastructure, supporting our athletes, and delivering on our Sh1.12 billion commitment to Kenyan sport” said Ronald Karauri, SportPesa CEO.

SportPesa reaffirmed its long-standing commitment to supporting sports development by announced a Sh120 million multi-sport sponsorship investment spanning boxing, rugby and rallying in Kenya.
The initiative will support athletes at all levels and provide long-term funding to strengthen the local sport ecosystems and create structured opportunities for Kenyan athletes.

“As we move forward, we remain focused on investing in Kenyan sport, including our recent commitments to rugby, rally, boxing and the Magical Kenya Open. Supporting sport remains central to who we are as a brand,’’ added Karauri.

With the matter now concluded, SportPesa turns the page and moves ahead with renewed momentum, strengthening African’s sporting ecosystem and backing talent from grassroots to the global stage.
