    CS Kinyanjui Revokes James Wahome Ndegwa’s Appointment to BPRT

    Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry Lee Kinyanjui has revoked the appointment of James Wahome Ndegwa as a member of the Business Premises Rent Tribunal.

    The decision was announced through a gazette notice dated January 9, 2026, and took effect on the same day.

    Ndegwa was appointed to the tribunal in 2025. He is a former founding Speaker of the Nyandarua County Assembly.

    “In exercise of the powers conferred by section 11 (1) of the Landlord and Tenant (Shops, Hotels and Catering Establishments) Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Investments, Trade and Industry revokes the appointment of James Wahome Ndegwa as a Member of the Business Premises Rent Tribunal, with effect from January 9, 2026,” the notice read.

    In the same gazette notice, Cabinet Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning John Mbadi reappointed Hadi Sheikh Abdulahi, Richard Boro Ndung’u and Lydia Cherono Rono as members of the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) Board of Directors. Their new term will run for three years starting January 13, 2026.

    CS Mbadi also appointed William Oluoch Adera as the Registrar of the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management. His appointment takes effect from September 26, 2025, and will last for three years.

    Meanwhile, Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development Cabinet Secretary Alice Wahome appointed Getrude Rapong’o, Mutua Mutisya, Silas Mbaabu Gichuru and Dr Fredrick Omondi Owino as members of the Physical Planners Registration Board for a three-year term.

    President William Ruto also made several appointments and reappointments to the boards of state agencies.

    The President reappointed Dr Stephen Mairori as the non-executive chairperson of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse (NACADA) for a three-year term starting January 20, 2026.

    Walter Nyambati was also reappointed as the non-executive chairperson of the Geothermal Development Company (GDC) board for another three years.

    Joseph Ogendo was appointed as the non-executive chairperson of the Kenya Trade Network Agency board, with his term running from January 9, 2026, to May 25, 2026.

    President Ruto also appointed Dennis Mwirigi as the non-executive chairperson of the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency board for a three-year term.

    In addition, Daniel Chemno was appointed as the non-executive chairperson of the board of directors of the New Kenya Planters Co-operative Union for a three-year term, effective February 10, 2026.
