“Go to Hell. I don’t Care How You Feel About the Rhinos” – CS Najib Balala

Tourism Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala has shown Kenyans raw arrogance when asked to resign for mishandling the relocation of the 11 rhinos which ended up dying.

According to Najib Balala, it’s only President Uhuru whom he listens to and not any other Kenyan. The Cabinet Secretary made it clear that he doesn’t listen to any other leader or normal citizen except the President, ignoring the fact that he and the President are employees of the civilians he hold in low esteem.

Asked to apologise over the suspension of the KWS officers, Balala insisted that he would not and he owed no one an apology for making that stand.

CS Najib Balala is fighting international condemnation over his handling of the relocation of the 11 rhinos, 10 which ended up dead. While KWS has blamed alkalinity for the deaths, critics have asked why the alkalinity only kills rhinos and not other animals in the park.

No! @tunajibu, CS Najib Balala, I have a lot of respect for you. But with all due respect, however much you consider some Kenyans or groups misguided, you by virtue of that position should NOT tell them “to go to hell”!. The President appoints you on behalf of the Kenyan people!

Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) publicised every step of the relocation but has done all it can to hide the deaths. It only took a source within KWS to leak the deaths. Also, the CS has totally refused to show Kenyans the carcasses of the dead animals, now believed to have been poisoned or murdered and horns sold.

    Wow.
    1. a minister wouldn’t be losing his cool like this unless weve touched a soft spot. So this is a good sign.

    2. Muigai may appoint Balala, but in a democracy, we were supposed to have appointed Muigai. And we still pay both anyway.

Operating now without a board, former KWS board members led by the immediate former chairman Dr Richard Leakey have laid blame on the Cabinet Secretary Najib Balala for making decisions without consulting the experts. The previous board advised against the relocation which costed Ksh 100 million.

The arrogant utterances by the CS has seen more Kenyans call on president Uhuru to fire him and not even give him the dignity to resign.
