    Decomposed body of man found in house after suspected murder in Bungoma

    A 70-year-old man was found dead in his house after a suspected murder in Sirisia, Bungoma County.

    Police said the body of Juma Wanjekeche had decomposed when it was discovered. The body had its throat slit and lay in a pool of blood in his semi-permanent house.

    Locals said he was seen alive on October 26 while the body was discovered two days later. Police said no arrest has been made over the murder. The motive was not immediately known and the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

    Elsewhere in Kapkerer, Nandi County, a middle aged man was beaten to death by two members of public after stealing a banana from their farm.

    The body of the man aged around 30 years was found lying lifeless beside a murram road with multiple bruises the on both hands, mouth ,face and legs.

    Police said some few fruits of banana were found at the scene.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy. Police said they are investigating the murder and no arrest has been made so far.

    Murder cases have been on the rise in the area. Police discourage mob lynching and want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for processing.

    Such incidents have been on the rise amid a campaign to discourage them.
