A group of sand harvesters recovered a decomposed body of a man after suspected drowning in Uranga area, Siaya County.
The man had drowned in the Nzoia River that empties to Lake Victoria in the Uranga area. The body was then swept to the area where it was found on Saturday night, police.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an identification and autopsy.
Elsewhere in Juakali, Turbo, Uasin Gishu County, one Paul Kipsat, 51 was found dead after being attacked by a mob over unknown claims. The mob included a brother and sister of a woman he was with that time.
They dragged him out of his house and killed him about 50 meters away.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other investigations.
The brother and sister of the deceased’s girlfriend were arrested pending investigations as the body was moved to the mortuary, police said.
Elsewhere in Makimeny, Bomet County, a two-year-old child drowned in a family dam in an incident.
According to witnesses and police, the mother and her child had slipped into the dam when he died. The mother had tied the baby boy on her back as she fetched water from the place when they accidentally slipped therein.
Locals rushed to their rescue. The woman was rescued alive while the boy succumbed, police said.
The woman was admitted at a local hospital while the body of the boy was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures.
In Kisindi area, Migori County, a one and half-year-old girl died after being beaten by her father at their home in Kamagambo village.
The father said he was disciplining her when it turned tragic.
The girl was rushed to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. Police said the father went underground after the Saturday incident and efforts to trace him were ongoing. The body of the girl was moved to a local mortuary pending autopsy.
