    Dominik Szoboszlai is a Hungarian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club Liverpool and captains the Hungary national team.

    Born on October 25, 2000, in Székesfehérvár, Hungary, he stands at 1.86 meters tall and is known for his versatility, powerful long-range shooting, technical ability, box-to-box energy, and leadership.

    Szoboszlai has established himself as one of the top midfielders in Europe, transitioning successfully from Austrian and German football to the Premier League.

    He moved into the Red Bull system with FC Liefering in 2017, where he impressed with his goal-scoring from midfield.

    He quickly progressed to the parent club Red Bull Salzburg, becoming a starter and contributing to multiple domestic titles while showcasing his long-range shooting and creativity in the Austrian Bundesliga and Champions League.

    In 2021, he transferred to RB Leipzig in Germany for a ten-record fee for a Hungarian player.

    Despite an initial injury setback, Szoboszlai became a key performer, helping Leipzig win two DFB-Pokal titles with consistent goals and assists.

    His performances attracted interest from top clubs, leading to his move to Liverpool in July 2023 after the club activated his €70 million release clause.

    At Liverpool, he made an immediate impact with strong debuts, scoring memorable goals (including the first by a Hungarian for the club), and adapting to various midfield roles.

    Accolades

    With Red Bull Salzburg, Szoboszlai secured multiple Austrian Bundesliga titles and Austrian Cups.

    At RB Leipzig, he won two DFB-Pokal titles.

    With Liverpool, he contributed to the Premier League title and reached the EFL Cup final.

    Individually, he has been named Hungarian Footballer of the Year and has received other domestic player of the season awards.
