Dylan Kerr has taken over as the new coach of struggling Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Black Leopards of South Africa days after ditching Kenyan giants Gor Mahia.

The 51-year-old Malta-born Englishman succeeds Joel Masutha who resigned following a 3-1 defeat to Cape Town City last week.

Kerr left Gor Mahia last Thursday after a successful stint which saw him win the Kenyan Premier League back to back and qualify K’Ogalo to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup for the first time.

“With a very sad heart, I have decided to accept anther coaching roe for the 2018/19 season,” Kerr said.

He returns to the rainbow nation nine years since he quit as assistant coach at Mpumalanga Black Aces, now Cape Town City, with more responsibilities on his shoulders.

The former Simba SC coach joins Black Leopards side that has only won two of their last eleven league matches and is second from bottom in the 16-team league.

Kerr’s immediate task will therefore be to steady the ship earlier enough to avoid a return to the second division next season. The club earned promotion to the topflight this season.

“The Day Will Come” as the club is nicknamed has a bad reputation of bad management.

The club was this year accused by former AFC Leopards Belgian manager Ivan Minneart of attempted murder after they fell out over alleged breach of contract.
