The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has summoned former ICT Authority board member Njogu Wachira as part of investigations into the alleged irregular renewal of CEO Stanley Kamangunya’s contract.
In a letter dated May 15, 2025, the EACC directed board members to appear at its headquarters, Integrity Centre, for questioning.
“To facilitate our investigations, the commission invites you for an interview and statement recording at EACC Integrity Centre on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 9am,” the letter reads. “Our officer, M. Ngare, will be available to receive and record your statement.”
The commission is investigating claims that the renewal of Kamangunya’s contract did not follow the required procedures.
In response, Wachira said there is a deliberate plan to force the CEO out of office unfairly.
“There is an orchestrated scheme to hound the CEO from office,” he said, adding that ICT Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo had legally approved the contract renewal.
“The power mandarins are now looking for technicalities to overturn the CS’s signature and terminate the renewed contract of the CEO,” Wachira added.
He also revealed that he was removed from the ICT Authority board just four days ago.
