Eden Hazard has let Chelsea know he wants to leave for Real Madrid.
The 28-year-old has spent seven seasons with the Blues but with just a year left on his contract, the Belgian wants a new challenge.
‘I have made my decision but it is not just about me,’ said Hazard after the goalless draw at Leicester on Sunday. ‘I told the club a couple of weeks ago.
‘I wanted it to be cleared up earlier but that’s not happened. I’m still waiting, like the fans are waiting.’
Having finished third in the Premier League Chelsea are guaranteed Champions League football next year.
The Blues are also gearing up for the Europa Cup final against English rivals Arsenal but all these are not enticing enough for Hazard to make him stay.
The player has nonetheless vowed to keep giving his best on the field despite the uncertain future.

‘We have a final to play and then I will see,’ said Hazard. ‘It has never been a distraction. When you are on the pitch, you try to be focused on the pitch with the ball. That’s it.
‘When I am on the pitch I just try to do the best. I am not thinking about this and this, my situation or the club’s situation. I just try to win games.’
Hazard waved at the crowd after the draw against Leicester.
