ekuru aukotDr Ekuru Aukot, Thirdway Alliance presidential candidate and self proclaimed opposition leader, has refuted claims that he was bribed into joining the October 26 presidential race.

Speaking to Radio Jambo on Wednesday morning, the lawyer turned politician said he was satisfied with IEBC’s state of preparedness.

“The Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission explained to us how they would effectively do the voting and tallying. We were happy with the process as was planned by the polls body.”

The bribery claims, he said were nothing but sheer propaganda propelled by fake social media reports. He insisted that he only followed the High court ruling as delivered by Justice John Mativo.

“I followed the High Court order which directed IEBC to include my name on the ballot.”

Last week, Aukot said that his party, without members in both houses of Parliament would keep ‘the Jubilee government in check.’

He reckons that he could have bagged the presidency should NASA leader, Raila Odinga backed his bid instead of pulling out of the race.

”After Raila pulled out of the fresh elections, it is official that Thirdway alliance is the official opposition,” he said, adding that his endorsement would have gone a long way.

President Uhuru Kenyatta was declared the duly elected President for a second term having garnered 7.4 million votes, and Odinga coming in second with 73,228 votes.

Mr Aukot came a distant third with 27,333 votes.
