Police in Molo Sub-County, Nakuru County launched investigations into the brutal killing of a 63-year-old man whose body was discovered floating in Kamwaura River.

The deceased, identified as Peter Maina Ngatho, was found on the afternoon of May 6, 2026, at around 2:30 p.m, police said.

According to police the body was retrieved from the river.

A preliminary examination revealed that the body had a deep cut wound at the back of the head and visible strangulation marks on the neck, indicating that the victim may have been violently attacked before his death.

Investigators believe the man may have been killed at a different location and his body later dumped in the river in an apparent attempt to conceal the crime.

Police further noted that the deceased had last been seen the previous evening and was reportedly intoxicated at the time.

The scene was processed, and the body was moved to Elburgon Hospital Mortuary, where a postmortem examination is expected to be conducted to establish the exact cause of death.

Authorities have launched a manhunt for those responsible, as investigations into the incident continue.

Meanwhile, police in Githunguri Sub-County, Kiambu County, have launched investigations into the death of a 38-year-old man who succumbed to a stab wound shortly after arriving at his home in Kambaa.

The incident was reported on the morning of May 6, 2026, at Kambaa Police Post by a relative.

According to police, the deceased, identified as Elijah Ng’ethe Mbugua, arrived home at around 7:30 a.m. with a stab injury in the pelvic region and was bleeding profusely.

His wife raised the alarm, prompting efforts to rush him to hospital.

However, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police officers visited the scene and found the victim had already been taken to hospital where he died

The scene was processed, and the body was later moved to Mukoye Funeral Home, where it awaits a postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Authorities have opened a murder investigation, with detectives working to establish the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing.

The motive of the murder is yet to be known. Police said they were pursuing good leads into the same.
