The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced that fuel prices will remain unchanged in its latest monthly review.

This means that from March 15 to April 14, 2025, the prices of Super Petrol, Diesel, and Kerosene will continue to retail at Sh176.58, Sh167.06, and Sh151.39 per litre, respectively.

According to EPRA, the prices include the 16 percent Value Added Tax (VAT), as stipulated in the Finance Act 2023 and the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 2024.

The regulator also revealed that the average landed cost of imported Super Petrol increased by 1.34 percent, rising from Sh81,398.16 per cubic metre in January to Sh82,488.13 in February. Diesel prices also saw a slight increase of 1.41 percent, while Kerosene recorded a 1.36 percent drop in its landed cost over the same period.

EPRA explained that Kenya imports all its petroleum products in refined form, with prices determined by international market benchmarks.

“Currently, Kenya imports all its petroleum product requirements in refined form and the products are traded in international markets based on a pricing benchmark,” EPRA noted.

Additionally, since petroleum trading is conducted in US dollars, the exchange rate plays a significant role in the final retail prices.
