    Eric Kiraithe Sacked, Replaced By Ex-Military Officer Colonel Cyrus Oguna

    Retired Colonel Cyrus Odhiambo Oguna has been appointed as the government spokesperson replacing Eric Kiraithe.

    The announcement was made by CS ICT Joe Mucheru who said that the appointment will take place immediately. The President gave a directive to move the office of the spokesperson to the ICT ministry headed by Mucheru.

    “In line with directions from the Executive Office of the President through the Head of the Public Service, the office of the Government Spokesman shall be domiciled at the ICT Ministry,” the statement read.

    The new spokesperson will have the oversight role of all government communication channels under the ICT Ministry.

    Kiraithe has held the position for the last five years.
