Evander Kane is a Canadian professional ice hockey winger who currently plays for the Vancouver Canucks in the National Hockey League (NHL).
Born on August 2, 1991, in Vancouver, British Columbia, he stands at 6 feet 2 inches and weighs approximately 218 pounds.
He shoots left and is known for his physical style, scoring ability, speed, and toughness.
Drafted fourth overall by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Kane has played for several teams including the Winnipeg Jets, Buffalo Sabres, San Jose Sharks, Edmonton Oilers, and now the Canucks, reaching over 1,000 NHL games in his career.

Evander was born to parents Perry and Sheri Kane.
Perry was an amateur boxer and hockey player, while Sheri was a college volleyball player, giving the family a strong athletic background.

Career
Kane began skating young and developed quickly through the North Shore Winter Club system.
He joined the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League (WHL) as a teenager, contributing to their Memorial Cup victory in 2007.
In 2008-09, he set franchise records with 48 goals and earned WHL West First All-Star Team honors.
The Atlanta Thrashers selected him fourth overall in 2009, and he made an immediate impact as a rookie.
After the franchise relocated, he played for the Winnipeg Jets before stints with the Buffalo Sabres and San Jose Sharks, where he posted strong offensive seasons.
He later signed with the Edmonton Oilers and helped them reach the Stanley Cup Final in 2024.
In 2025, he was traded back to his hometown Vancouver Canucks.
Known for his power-forward presence and ability to score in big moments, Kane has recorded over 300 career NHL goals while adapting through challenges including injuries and off-ice matters.
Accolades
